Day 1 - Arrive in Vientiane.

Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to your centrally located hotel. After a short rest, we set our orientation short Walking Tour to Lao Capital, strolling around the city distance, and observing the sunset by the Mekong Riverside and late evening Seeing the city lifestyle of local Lao people. O/N in VTE

Day 2  Vientiane including the temples of Wat Si Saket and the National Museum (B)

Discover the quiet charm of this Lao capital city at Wat Sisaket with the hundreds of Buddha statues nestled in the temple walls and Vat Ho Phra Keo, the temple that once housed the sacred "Emerald Buddha". Continue with the cultural tour in the city at Presidential Palace, the popular Wat Simuang. In the afternoon, ascend the steps up to Patuxai, Vientiane's own Arc de Triomphe for a spectacular view over a city that has almost no high-rise buildings before heading to That Luang, the cultural icon of Vientiane. You will have a chance to indulge in the aromatic flavours and smells of Lao coffee. Overnight in Vientiane

Day 3 - Fly to Luang Prabang (B)

Breakfast at hotel, transfer to airport for your flight to Luangprabang. We spend the day touring Lao capital, visiting the National Museum (Revolutionary Museum) where varied antique items and legend of Laos’s history fighters and leaders displace from the ancient times to new revolution period. We then board a short flight to Luang Prabang, which is perhaps the best - preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia. UNESCO registered 1995 as World Cultural Heritage City. The tranquility and charm of this town with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Asia. On arrival, we transfer you to hotel. After a short rest, we are strolling around to see the Street Night Market, where you can find the lovely collection and handmade textile by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang, we then climb up to the top of Phousi Mount for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as viewing a beautiful panorama sunset over this once royal ancient city and the Mekong River. Day 4 Luang Prabang’s beautiful temples (B)

Breakfast, we are exploring this charming city of UNESCO world heritage site, The Luang Prabang is a small, dream-like town on the Mekong and Nam Khan Rivers, in a beautiful mountain setting. From 1353 until 1545 it was the capital of Lane Xang before power was transferred to Vientiane. Despite the move Luang Prabang remained the seat of monarchical power and when the kingdom broke up in 1694, one of the deceased king's grandsons established a rival kingdom to those in Vientiane and Champassak. Though weakened, the Luang Prabang royalty endured until 1975, when after the reign of 63 kings it was formally dissolved. You spend the day exploring the temples and sites in what is called one of the last Shangri-La’s of Southeast Asia. You will visit Wat Xiang Thong, the most important Buddhist monastery in the country, Wat Visoun, Wat Khili and Wat Mai. Later, visit the former Royal Palace, now a National Museum where you will find ornate, gilded and brocaded reception rooms, as well as Buddha and Atacular artifacts including the Prabang, a large holy image, which was given in the 14th century by the Khmers to King Fa Ngum. At sunset climb the nearby temple-topped hill of Phousi where you'll catch a lovely view out over the town and the river. Overnight in Luang Prabang

Day 5 - Explore Kuang Si waterfall and the surrounding countryside (B)

You have an option to observe the monks receiving alms from the locals at dawn. After breakfast, we will take a city tour to gain a deeper understanding of Lao culture at Wat Visoun with its iconic Watermelon Stupa and Wat Aham, the altar of Luang Prabang's two respected geniuses. At Kuang Si Waterfalls, you will have a spectacular view of water cascading into the clear turquoise pools at its foot.Overnight in Grand Luang Prabang

Days 6: Luangprabang – Pakbeng (B)

The LuangSay boat departs from Luang Prabang pier at 07:30 hrs for a cruise up the Mekong River to Pak Beng. On the way to Pak Ou Village, at the mouth of the Nam Ou River a visit is organized to Tam Ting “Caves of a thousand Buddha’s”. After a brief stop is made at Ban Baw to observe the processing traditional rice alcohol, a delicious buffet lunch is served on board. The boat will arrive at LuangSay Lodge before sunset for overnight stop. Dinner is served at terrace overlooking the Mekong River.

Day 7 Upstream along the Mekong, finishing with the border (B)

Breakfast served at terrace around 6:30 a.m. In the morning visit the morning market (Optional) of Pak Beng where the nearby villagers and hill tribes buy and exchange their goods. Boat departs at 07:30 a.m. for her second part of trip. One stop is made to visit and admire the authentic rural life of hill tribe settlements. Lunch is again served on board. Reaching Houeisay before 17:00 hrs  Arrive at Lanjia in the late afternoon. Herbal juice will be served while you are checking in at the lodge. Then, watch a presentation about the Hmong and Lahu tribes, the Golden triangle area and the giant catfish (locally known as Pla Buek) – the world’s biggest fresh water fish found in the Mekong River. Learn about activities that affect the Mekong River and people whose lives depend on the river. Dinner and watch traditional Hmong performances. Overnight at Thavisinh Hotel

Day 8 - Full day exploring the Golden Triangle with its colourful hill tribes (B)

After breakfast, depart for the Thailand-Burma border at Mae Sai District for a visit (on your own expense, you can cross the border to Burma to visit Takhilek Market). Then drive along the border via Baan Pha Mee to visit Wat Prathat Doi Tung, Doi Chang Mub arboretum garden and Doi Tung Palace. Lunch at a local restaurant.  In the afternoon, drive to  the Golden Triangle to visit the Hall of Opium. Board a long-tail boat for a cruise on the Mekong River down to a fisherman village of Baan Had Bai. Then drive to Chiengrai.
