Popularly known as the Rose of the North,
Chiang Mai, a 750 kilometers north of
Bangkok, is blessed with stunning natural
beauty. The northern hills and mountains are
home to Thailand‘s hill tribes and their
very own way of life. Chiang Mai became the
center of the Lanna Kingdom 700 years ago
and till today you find more than 1.000 hill
tribe villages in this province. The terrain
is mainly mountainous and covered by jungle,
parts of which are within national parks
which are still fertile and verdant with
plentiful flora and fauna.
PROGRAM:
Day 1 Arrival in Chiang Mai
Arrive at Chiang Mai and transfer from
airport or railway station to the hotel in
Chiang Mai. Accommodation at hotel of the
choice
Day 2 Chiang Mai (B, L)
Breakfast at hotel Full day Lisu Lodge
Adventure with lunch. Early in the morning,
pick up from your hotel in Chiang Mai by a
local truck (songtaew) to the Lisu Lodge.
09:00, arrive at the Lisu Lodge. Traditional
welcome drink will be served. Start your
adventure with cycling about 13 km. to the
rafting point for a 45-minute rafting on an
inflatable raft down the river and end up at
Thai village. Short transfer to the Elephant
Camp for picnic lunch. Enjoy an hour of
elephant ride through the beautiful
mountainous jungle and end up by the river.
Then a short drive to an Akha village for a
visit including talking with shaman. To
return to the Lisu Lodge, you have a choice
of either by bike or sit in the local truck.
Arrive at the Lisu Lodge / Time at leisure
until transfer back to your hotel.
