The northernmost province of Thailand,
Chiang Rai is situated on the Kok River
basin, 416 metres above sea level. Mostly
mountainous, it reaches the Mekong River to
the north and borders on both Myanmar and
Laos. The province is rich of natural
attractions and antiquities, evidence of its
past civilization. It is also home to
several hill tribes who follow fascinating
ways of life. Chiang Rai is also a tourism
gateway into Myanmar and Laos.
PROGRAM:
Day 1 Arrival Chiang Rai
Arrive in Chiang Rai. Welcome and transfer
to your hotel. Accommodation at hotel of the
choice.
Day 2 Chiang Rai (B, L)
Breakfast at the hotel. Afterwards full day
excursion to the Golden Triangle . Pick up
from your hotel and proceed to visit the Doi
Tung Hilltribe Project in the northwestern
hills of Chiang Rai province. Continue to
Mae Sai; lunch at a local restaurant. At Mae
Sai, take a stop at the bridge which crosses
the frontier to Burma. Continue driving
along the Mekong River to Chiang Saen before
the return to your hotel. Accommodation at
hotel of the choice.
Day 3 Depart Chiang Rai (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer from your
hotel to Chiang Rai Airport. End of
services.
